Bell Canada: Lessons Learned and Practical Tips on Deploying Mental Health Programs
Over the past several years and as part of the Bell Let’s Talk initiative, Bell has created and deployed comprehensive mental health programs in the workplace. With relentless efforts and focus, Bell has been able to raise awareness and train thousands of leaders and employees.
In this discussion, you will gain a better understanding of Bell’s approach to reduce stigma in the workplace and continuously evolve programs to improve employee engagement and mental health related outcomes.
PRESENTERS:

Dr. Marie-Hélène Favreau
Director of Mental Health, Workplace Practices and Disability Management, Bell Canada
Marie-Helene is a dynamic leader with experience in both the public and private sectors. She is known for her strategic leadership and business innovation capabilities.
Marie-Helene is responsible for mental health, disability management and workplace practices across Bell business units. In this capacity, she oversees a diverse team of health professionals and HR consultants.
Before joining Bell in 2014, she worked in public health and the aerospace industry as an executive director in various capacities overseeing Occupational Health Services, Environment, Health & Safety as well as HR & Talent management programs across Pratt & Whitney worldwide. She still practices as a family physician on a part time basis.
In November 2017, Marie-Helene was named one of the 150 Leading Canadians for Mental Health by the Center for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in recognition of her contributions to promote, develop and implement mental health programs in work environments.
Marie-Helene holds a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Montreal, and a Masters’ in Business Administration from HEC Montreal.
Jennifer Palov
Vice-President of Total Rewards and HR Services, Bell Canada
Jennifer Palov has over 15 years of experience leading legal and HR teams in the public and private sector.
In her current role as Vice-President of Total Rewards and HR Services at Bell, her portfolio includes mental health, disability management and workplace practices.
Prior to joining Bell in 2011, Jennifer was the Executive Director of the Legal Services Division of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice.
Jennifer holds an LLB from Dalhousie University and has been a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society since 1997.

The Evolution of the Dynacare Difference
Dynacare is a leading provider of health and wellness solutions in Canada. To bring their brand to life for their customers, they knew they needed to start with their people. They needed to ‘walked the talk’ and foster an environment that allows their people to thrive at work and at home.
To accomplish this, they created a program called “The Dynacare Difference.” In this presentation, gain an overview of the program, including preventative strategies around mental health, and lessons learned to date. Dynacare will also share an overview of both the industry and qualitative research that shaped its thinking.

Donna Pascal
Vice-President of Human Resources and Talent Management, Dynacare
Donna Pascal has 20 years of experience in human resources, with the last 13 years serving as a senior HR executive for a number of fortune 500 companies.
Donna currently leads the human resources function at Dynacare, a leading health and wellness solutions provider. As Vice President of Human Resources and Talent Management, Donna leads a team of 29 professionals and oversees organizational effectiveness, learning and development, talent management, talent acquisition and wellness, health and safety. Donna and the HR team are focused on creating an internal culture that inspires employees, grows talent and allows people to thrive at work and at home.
Prior to that, Donna served as Vice President of Human Resources at Acklands-Grainger from 2012-2015, and Staples North American Delivery from 2007-2012.
Donna holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario, as well as professional certifications in Advanced Human Resource Management from the Rotman School of Business, and Alternative Dispute Resolution from the University of Windsor Law, in addition to professional training in Executive Coaching. Donna holds the Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation (formerly CHRP) from the Human Resources Professional Association.
