A Complete Guide to Employment Law is a comprehensive program that provides HR professionals with the tools to protect their organizations and navigate potential legal pitfalls related to recruitment, employee performance and termination or resignation issues.

This online workshop provides a complete picture of common law and Employment Standards Act, 2000 concepts with a focus on Ontario law. HR professionals attending this seminar will receive a solid foundation in Ontario employment law, and receive a comprehensive update on recent caselaw examples and trends, including the recent changes found in Bill 27.

Stay up to date on employment law trends, including new issues facing employers during COVID-19 and examples to manage relationships effectively and proactively protect your organization from legal risk.

Logistics Details:

This Program combines live virtual instruction with hands-on experiential learning through case studies, scenarios, discussions and simulations.
 

Live Virtual Sessions: There will be online instructor-led modules, during which practical examples and experiences will be shared.

  • January 24, 2024 (Session 3 – 10:00AM-12:00PM; Session 4– 2:30PM – 4:30PM)

Materials: Participants will be provided with session workbooks (digital format) to follow along with the content covered in each module and to take notes, as well as additional post-session materials for future use.
Peer Learning and Group Work: Participants will have the opportunity to learn from each other while answering questions and sharing experiences and observations during the modules, as well as through practical, hands-on exercises

Harrison  Brown

Harrison is a trusted management advisor and advocate in both unionized and nonunionized workplaces. He advises clients on a variety of issues, including:  Legislative and regulatory compliance;  Wrongful dismissal and human rights litigation;  Labour disputes;  Employee privacy; and  Workplace health and safety. Harrison is also a skilled investigator with experience conducting and advising on complex, multi-party investigations concerning issues of harassment, discrimination and other breaches of corporate policy. Prior to joining BLG, Harrison practiced at a highly regarded boutique employment and workplace investigations firm in Toronto.
