Featured Themes for April 11th Meeting:

Topic: How HR Can Lead Transformational Change (Case Study)

Parmalat Canada has been facing a period of transformational change as the senior leadership team prepares for shifts to the organization’s very structure. The organization is becoming three separate divisions, which will significantly alter the organizational design – and it’s up to HR to steer that change.

But true transformational change is never simple, and there are many challenges to overcome – particularly for a large global organization. Hear Scott Goodman, SVP of HR, talk about his experience shaping transformative change at Parmalat, and share the key learnings he has taken from the experience.

Presenter:

Scott Goodman, SVP of HR, Parmalat Canada

Topic: Managing Cultural Shift during Mergers and Acquisitions

In 2016, it was announced that U.S. health care company McKesson would take over the Rexall chain in a $3-billion acquisition. The deal was approved by the competition bureau after an agreement from McKesson to sell 26 drugstores.

Needless to say, the sale will certainly cause the same cultural and organizational shifts inherent in any merger and acquisition transition – and there will undoubtedly be challenges through the transition period.

Hear Frank Monteleone, VP of Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness, discuss the M&A process and the enterprise change management Rexall experienced last year, and will continue to experience as a result of the acquisition.

Presenter:

Frank Monteleone, VP of Human Resources & Organizational Effectiveness, Rexall.

Topic: Change Starts in the Boardroom

Change is, of course, most visible on the front lines of business operations – that’s where it truly takes observable shape, and that is where all of the painstaking strategic planning and change management either sinks or swims.

But transformational change begins well before any direction is handed down to front-line employees and business partners. Change begins in the boardroom, and that is arguably the most crucial juncture in terms of effective change management. A board that can effectively strategize, navigate and implement change is an invaluable asset – and a critical one if you want lasting, successful organizational shifts.

Join Warren Bell, COO at OMERS, for an open-format, Q&A style discussion on shaping change from the top down, and issues around board level engagement in organizational change.

Presenter:

Warren Bell, COO, OMERS

Space is limited to 28 attendees.
