The Mentoring Certificate Program – Level 2 is the 2.5-day second phase of the International Certification for Mentoring to a professional designation as a International Certified Mentor Practitioner (ICMP). The course combines academic and practical experience including a full day of case studies and the application of mentoring concepts in a controlled and safe environment.

Learning objectives:

The “Certificate Program – ICM Level 2” continues the International Certification for Mentoring to a professional designation as a International Certified Mentor Practitioner (ICMP).

<  Be able to give and received feedback on performance.

<  Audit one’s own mentoring skills

<  Develop a personal/professional plan (PDP).

<  Discuss the implications of differences in mentor/mentee personality.

<  Develop the mentoring relationship

Who should attend:

Individuals who have completed the Mentoring Certificate Program – Level 2; as well as HR leaders and managers who are in a mentoring role, or have the opportunity to mentor others in the workplace and are considering a designation in mentoring

Special Notes:

1. Candidates will be required to register for the exam with CSME prior to attending the course.

2. Candidates will be required to pay a $250 USD exam fee payable to CSME (can be done on line).

3. Candidates must bring a device that can access the internet for the 3rd day of the course in order to be able to complete the on line exam.

4. Candidates are encouraged to review the learning objectives contained in the CSME Candidate Syllabus document that has been provided and do some pre-course reading to prepare for the course and the exam.

Program agenda:

Day One: Theory (8 hours)

Day Two: Case study – practical application of theories (8 hours)

Day Three: Exam Review and On Line exam (4 hours)

Doug Lawrence, President

Doug Lawrence is the founder of TalentC® a Human Resources solution provider. He has over 30 years of mentoring and leadership experience in federal, provincial and private sector environments and is recognized as a thought leader in the mentoring space.

Doug was instrumental in launching the first Provincial Human Resources mentoring program in Saskatchewan and is now working as an Advisor with HRMAM (Manitoba) for their Human Resources Mentoring Program. Doug also assisted the University of Regina in the launch of the Hill School of Business Mentor Program. Doug is a member of the Advisory Board for HR.com, Futures Institute Inc., the Employer Advisory Committee and the Executive Board for Ignite Adult Learning Corporation, the Nigeria – Canada Forum Board of Directors and the Progress Intern Mentor Institute (PIMI) Board in Ghana.

Doug was instrumental in developing a curriculum to train people on how to become effective mentors. He has also created an International Certification for Mentors. The curriculum and the designation are accredited by a 3rd party and are ISO compliant. Doug is a Certified Mentor Practitioner and a Certified Mentor Facilitator.
