Debbie Baxter

Debbie Baxter has 25+ years of experience working with businesses to implement change – from changes in real estate utilization, to changes in culture or technology. She is a client advocate who can uniquely combine the ability to recommend the strategies that drive the desired business outcome as well as have the leadership insight to oversee adoption of the change.

Debbie is the Vice President Corporate Real Estate for Deloitte Canada, responsible for working with clients to ideate, design and implement their Real Estate strategies and projects.

She is most passionate about the "Future of Work" - working with clients to adapt their business to the trends evident in our economy and society that will challenge our existing infrastructure and drive the need for a new way of thinking about work environments.

Debbie’s efforts have been recognized on a national level. In 2013, Debbie was named to the Top 100 WXN list of the Most Powerful Women in Canada in the Trailblazer Category.

With a background in operations and technology, Debbie is a Certified Management Consultant, Certified Public Accountant and holds a Corporate Directors ICD.D designation.


Daneal Charney, CHRP, CHRL, Senior Director of Human Resources

Daneal Charney (CHRL) is a sought out HR business leader to tech founders and leadership teams. She has worked with many of GTA’s software starts ups over the past 10 years. Recently Daneal took on an exciting role at MaRS connecting over 300 growth-ready ventures to talent. Prior to that she was the head of HR for NexJ Systems where she was recognized for her employer brand work by the Canadian HR Awards (2016) and University of Waterloo GTA Top Employer Award (2015). Daneal is a thought leader on progressive HR practices and retaining millennials in the start-up community. Her articles have been featured in the Globe & Mail’s Careers section, Metro News and The Canadian Learning Journal. Daneal is the co-author of a career survival guide for millennials. "Hitting Stryde is a must read for an Millennials as they enter the workforce." - David Stein, Co-Founder & Managing Partner at Leaders Fund. She is a volunteer mentor for Venture for Canada, encouraging young people to consider a career in start-ups.


Stephanie Chen

Stephanie Chen is currently a member of HRPA Toronto's Social Media team and along with three other people she administers the HRPA Toronto's social media outlets. She is passionate about helping people be happier at work. Stephanie likes to increase efficiency and productivity at the workplace, and strives to motivate people at work to be the best they can be. Stephanie is an HR Generalist at Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) Canada. If you are interested in efficiency, motivation or social media, come chat with Stephanie.


Mukund Chopra

Mukund Chopra is an experienced technology investor and operator with a proven track record of using technology to drive efficiencies in slow moving marketplaces. He was responsible for building and running Groupon's Central US markets through IPO. His other holdings include MD Home Call, Canada's largest provider of Physician Home Visits and Slack technologies (currently valued at $3.8bn). Mukund also currently serves as Head of North America for Universal Avenue. Universal are currently operational in 7 countries and are using technology to enable the direct sales industry. The company has been featured as one of Wired magazines top 100 startups and it back by several institutional investors including the likes of Fidelity.
