Senior HR Conference
This Senior HR Conference is a well-received annual event that connects our chapter with quality speakers and a panel discussion on highly relevant topics and challenges in HR today. This year’s speaker was chosen from the HRPA Speakers’ Bureau. Dominic Levesque, has been contracted (through HRPA) to speak on one of his declared topics: “Strategies to Align your organizations HR Practices and Business Goals” Importance: Ensuring that HR is a Business Partner starts with HR demonstrating how its departmental functions are in alignment with those of the rest of the organization as well as aligned between intent of the organization and practices within the organization. HR cannot operate in isolation or it becomes irrelevant. HR practices and business goals should support and uphold the intent and goals of the organization. In his talk, Mr. Levesque will help deepen the realization of the links that must exist between the organization and HR and how HR must align its goals to be supportive of the organization as a whole. He will provide strategies to cultivate alignment, showing how, as well as what is important.
Learning Objectives:
Our goal is to ensure that after each event, our HR members can put into action one or two ideas, at their workplace that do not cost money, are highly relevant to ensuring the relevancy of the HR function to their respective organization, and continuously educate our HR members. Our members will learn about how to align HR goals with their organization, why its’ important, how to quickly implement some measures to ensure that there is alignment, etc. Mr Levesque’s stated objectives: As an HR leader, how can you bring concrete, quantifiable value to your organization? By aligning HR practices with business objectives and plans, you can contribute to your organization’s performance. A fun and interactive session filled with real life examples and tips on how to develop the business acumen of HR leaders. (HRPASpeakers.ca)
